Location

Naturalism expression of children is always interesting to be immortalized. I took this photo on my home page in Serang Banten, because almost every afternoon they always play there.

Time

I think this photo would be nice if I place the mat was torn between the models. Worn mat that has a straight contour lines will strengthen the torn dramatic impression. I call Gilang to do a photoshoot. I tell him to put his head between the mat cutouts. I train and direct it to act, repeatedly, since he was a child naturally childish nature is natural and it is difficult to understand the direction of me. But it did not discourage me, though several times she said tired and lazy, I was occasionally cheer him back to continue to make it feel enjoy. Until I get the mood I wanted. because I do not want to be made difficult by setting up the camera, so I used AV priority, aperture f/4 because I want to get the detail in all parts of the mat with attractive contours. Light conditions are already quite good enough to make me worry even though I was not made to be played with available light so I only use ISO 100, shutter speed even though I got only 1/45s, but good enough I can still handle. I like the Gilang’s mood in the picture because he has a great eye with his face natural country boy, could describe a country boy who could not afford that seemed to harbor anxiety and sorrow will be a future that he himself might never know where and how fate. His face character, and I hope to continue working with him because I am satisfied with the images I got.

Lighting

I want to make this photo stylized black and white portrait, because its weather is quite supportive, so I do not add the lighting equipment such as flash or reflector. I wear for lighting Iso 100 with Shutter Speed 1/45 sec, with a lens aperture of about f / 4, I think that I can still handle even without a tripod.

Inspiration

Child's world is a world filled with a million dreams and expectations, so it has become one of our tasks as someone more senior, should be able to help guide and direct them to be able to achieve what they aspire. My village is one small area that almost 65% are still many children who are only able to continue their education up to junior level, due to weak economic conditions. Therefore a lot of the kids who had to give up their dreams and harbored deep. That is why I was willing to make a photograph that depicts a message one heart cry of children who can not afford. Of course I had to use a model for telling what they feel. Almost every afternoon at my home page is often used as a children's playground in my village. That gave me the idea to create a themed portrait photographs with children. Then I took a boy models Gilang Permana to photograph there. He has never been photographed, and he's still considered children is a challenge for me, because of course it takes extra patience to get the mood I want.

Editing

I took this photo portrait style. Because I only want to show the mood of the models, because the shooting distance is too far, then I have to accept the fact that I do not want, because of the composition on the mat still can not see eye to focus on the mood of the models. With Photoshop, the photo and then cropping in conjuction with the object of my face at the center. In order for the eye to focus on the mood of the models. To get all the details on this with me using some Photoshop plug-in to speed up my work. I use NIK Color Effects Pro 4 and I choose Detail Extractor with raising and lowering saturated contrast, then I use the Curve to clarify the shadow and highlight sections, therefore the results are not yet sufficiently strengthen the character in the picture, then later I changed the tone of a color photo to Black & White in photoshop adjustments, but once I saw seemed to exposure on the part around the face is still too much, of course it reduces contour detail on the mat. Then I add a new layer and change the layer mode to Softlight, then blacken parts around the face with a brush or tool can be called with vigneting technique, is actually a technique like this we can use the dodge tool or maybe the other way, but I think this technique is more effective because easier to change the value of the opacity in the layer section. To further highlight the contours of the face I use bleach bypass in NIK Color Effects Pro 4 that the photo has greater character. For my next layer down his little gamma correction. and to further sharpen the section of hair, eyes, eyebrows, nose and lips my face using a high pass and change the layer mode to Softlight with size adjustable opacity, then swept his brush only in those sections. I use 8 layers for post processing

In my camera bag

I am not a professional photographer, so I do not have a lot of photography equipment as well as other photographer, whenever I went to photograph, in my bag only contained my favorite camera is a Canon 60D, and two lenses, a 18-55 mm and 50 mm.
