Christmas day at my brothers. My kids are older now and every knows there is nothing like watching the excitement of little ones on Christmas dayTime
It was early afternoon. We were in their great room watching the kids open presents.Lighting
There was no flash. To the right of my great nice was a large glassed area that supplied some beautiful soft low lightEquipment
My camera is a Canon 60D. That day I was using my Sigma 17-70 Telephoto-zoom . I like to shoot the kids low, from their level...I really enjoy that perspective and have found it produces a more natural light and eliminates some of the "shadowing" you can get from shooting "down" at them.Inspiration
Wow!!! Christmas day , all the kids dressed up, opening presents with enough sugar on board you almost have to nail them to floor........that's a lot of energy and spontaneous action to try and capture.Editing
All natural light and just a lucky shot ........wish I could have done a little something with Ferbie's eyes.......but it was truly Ferbie's bright eyes that contributed to that element of surprise and the sparkle in the eyes on my great nieces face when she opened that package that contained Ferbie. The nice bokeh affect was a huge bonus in this shot as well.In my camera bag
I carry the Canon 60D, my sigma 17-70 telephoto zoom, a canon 70-300 telephoto zoom, a sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom, canon 50mm, canon 600EX-RT Flash,Feedback
The only thing I can say about this shot is the natural light and shooting low at the level of my great niece........straight into her eyes got me a good result . Kids are the best......always have the camera ready........they never disappoint !!!!!!
