Oh this is good. Gives me the feeling of Peter, Paul and Mary.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the front porch of my house. It was a beautiful warm fall afternoon and we had all gathered on the porch while my daughter played guitar.

Time

It was later in the afternoon approx. 1530hrs on a sunny fall day

Lighting

It was typical warm low fall light

Equipment

This shot was a Canon 60D using a Sigma 17-70 1:2.8-4 MACRO HSM. I was shooting in sport mode approx. 5 fps. No flash used.

Inspiration

My daughter was playing and having some fun flipping her hair around while playing. I saw it as a great opportunity to try some burst photos. I took a number of photos and got lucky with this one.

Editing

The only post processing was sharpening a bit, didn't want it too crisp, I wanted to maintain some softness and flow in the image. Going to black and white.

In my camera bag

In the bag: -Canon 60D -Sigma 17-70 1:2.8-4 MACRO HSM ( my primary lens) -Canon Zoom EF 70-300 1:4-5.6 IS USM -Sigma 10-20 1:4-5.6 DC HSM -Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 -Canon Speedlite -600EX-RT

Feedback

I have always loved natural light and the softness that it gives. This photo was shot in later afternoon and light source was low on the horizon . Take lots of shots!!!
