Location
I took this photo at city park in Sandy Springs Georgia. My girlfriend and I went to watch the 4th of July fireworks. I had never attempted fireworks photography, so I decided to bring my gear with me.Time
This was taken around 9:30 at night. I moved around a couple times to find the best spot. I shot around 30 photos. This shot was my favorite.Lighting
I was used long exposure photography to get these images. I tested out between 2 and 5 second exposures. I used my phone that was connected to the Canon connect app as my shutter release since I don't have a cable release. It worked perfectly. As long as I held the shutter button down on my phone, the shutter on the camera stayed open. When I let off the button, the camera took the shot.Equipment
I used a Canon rp and an rf 24-105mm lens for this shot. I also had my tripod and my phone attached to the Canon connect app.Inspiration
I've always been interested in different types of photography. I really enjoy learning new genres and techniques that will help me take my photography to the next level. Fireworks are an interesting challenge, but I enjoyed giving it a try.Editing
I shot this as a jpeg, so I was limited by how much I could do with this shot in post, but I boosted the shadows and added some vibrance and saturation in lightroom to make it pop.In my camera bag
I carry a Canon rp with a 50mm 1.8 with me pretty much everywhere I go. I also have an rf 24-105mm. My next lens will be the rf 100-400. I'm not a professional, so I'm not trying to spend the big money on L glass.Feedback
Anybody can get a shot like this. You'll definitely need a tripod and either a cable release or a way to trigger your shutter without bumping your camera. Camera shake ruin this shot.
