Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the theater during the warm-up and rehearsal of the ballet troupe.

Time

I started shooting at 3 PM, about four hours before the ballet performance.

Lighting

Only stage lighting was used, it kept on changing all the time and it was rather challenging.

Equipment

I used my Pentax K-50 with the Pentax 40 f2.8 mm limited pancake lens. The lens is rather snappy and sharp.

Inspiration

I love ballet. I love documentary photography too. I was inspired by the greatest photographers of the past, such as Robert Doisneau, Richard Avedon, Brassai, William Klein, Henri Cartier-Bresson and many others.

Editing

I made some tweaks with the contrast only.

In my camera bag

I always want to be unobtrusive and I normally have a camera with one of my lens attached. I usually have my Pentax K-50 with me.

Feedback

Find a proper location, be discreet, don't use a flash and take a lot of photos.
