Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo while I was in bed and Zen was laying next to me. I have started to take my phone with me because it is my alarm clock and my instant camera for moments just like this. I LOVE Zen's whiskers! Anytime I can try to capture their wildness and length, I try to. His whiskers are so long and voluminous, they are gorgeous!

Time

It was probably mid-morning since I usually sleep during the day and am up all night.

Lighting

I think the auto flash was on, but other than that, there were no other lights on in the room.

Equipment

I used my Samsung Galaxy S10 camera.

Inspiration

His whiskers inspired the photo.

Editing

I only cropped the image a little bit. Apart from very minimal post-processing in LR4, I don't believe in using a computer program to "get the shot". I rely on my skill.

In my camera bag

I normally do not use a phone camera but for this situation, I did.

Feedback

Keep trying and experimenting so as to improve your photography skills. I always encourage people to NOT rely on post-processing to make the photo. I am a nature and wildlife photographer and only do minor post production processing since I feel it is my responsibility to photograph what the moment was like in real life. As an example, I don't like it when a sky is masked out and replaced with one with clouds or a sunset. Our planet is so fragile, that it is my mission to present it as we have injured or destroyed it with our carelessness and self-absorbed attitudes. Unless we show our audience what the world is really like, we cannot inspire others to become involved in saving it.
