I shot this image with my old Sony A7 and the 28-70 Kit lens. I shoot with an old Manfrotto 190 aluminum tripod most of the time.Inspiration
The ability to shoot a Grist Mill, a Waterfall and a Covered bridge in one image was all I needed to interest me in shooting this image.Editing
Yes I post-process in Photoshop CC. I do quite a bit of post and I have it to a point where I have a very similar workflow from image to image. In my camera bag
I take as much as I can carry in my car but when I decide to shoot an image I carry only what I think I need with me. No back pack full of gear. I had to park about 2 miles from this mill and hike a gorge to get to the mill so I only take my camera, tripod and extra batteries. Oh yes a spare SD card too. I like to hike light.Feedback
Pick your target: I like to have a target image in my head before I head out to the area. I find out all I can about the target with online info I.e. Trails.com or Google maps. I try to pick shooting locations out beforehand but you need to choose more than one in case the one spot you picked just will not work.
