I took the photo in my basement. I set up a cloth background and used one light with a red jell on the background. My main light was a soft box on the left of camera.Time
I did this in the early evening with flash.Lighting
I was helping my wife with the outdoor Christmas lighting and spent too much time trying to untangle the lights and that started me thinking of my theme fighting with lights. The boxing gloves and red nose were added for fun. I slowed the shutter so as to get the small lights to show up better.Equipment
I used my Nikon D750 with a Tamron 90mm macro lens. For lights I used Godox AD 200 for background light and Godox 600 for main. I did use my tripod and remote radio to take this image.Inspiration
I enjoy of creating images that are different and fun. I try to create a personal project every week to keep me active and entertain my photographer friends. I think sometimes we take ourselves too seriously and are afraid of what others may think. I do not worry about the trolls and what they think just my friends.Editing
I use photoshop CC and topaz it add clarity and sharpness. I will often vignette the edges on my images to keep the viewer looking at my subject. In my camera bag
My equipment depends on the job at hand. I have a collection of lights from over the years speedotron and now Godox. For camera equipment I have Nikon D7100 and D750 along with a D300 converted for IR. Lenses Nikon 50mm 1.4 Nikon 80 to 200 2.8 Tamron 90mm Macro Tamron 150 to 600mm and Tamron 24 to 70mm 2.8 The thing I love about the Godox is the versatility for location work. I have a wagon for when I shoot on location. I can put everything I need in it stands lights camera equipment and background.Feedback
Just have fun be different and try new ideas out using your self as the subject. I love using props to held get my point across. Just try and photograph something every week. The process is a lot of fun and keeps your camera and lighting skills sharp. Shoot often
