They are a lovely flower, never had much luck with Dahlias. I have some nice chrysanthemums my Grandmothers favourite flower:-)

Yes, they are SO lovely, Lizzie. I only started growing them a couple of years ago, adding two new ones this year. I have struggled with excessive heat, followed by mildew which spread from one plant to another. At the moment, this plant has almost no leaves (because I removed the ones with mildew) but has 4 flowers! Will have to cut it back completely (as I did two other dahlias, both of which have come back) soon.

Many thank, my Dear . . . Had to cut this plant back completely because of mildew . .. so sad! But would you believe it's come back more beautiful than ever? I doubt it will flower again this season, however.
