I originally shot this scene of Lake Sequoyah in 2003 on a film camera and that image has won me many accolades for which i am very proud and grateful. But for several years now I wanted to reshoot this scene with my digital camera and a much better knowledge of how to best capture the scene in all of it's glory. This year, 2016, I finally got the chance to revisit Highlands, NC and reshoot this beautiful scene. The water was low in the lake and creating a smaller fall than the one shot in 2003 and it was literally the end of the season for the leaves, but I got the shot. As proud as I am of the original, I am equally proud of this one. The beauty of Fall being reflected in Lake Sequoyah is always a beautiful sight.
