Location
This photo was taken at Mingo Creek Park, deep within the park near the covered bridges.Time
It was taken around 2 pm when the sun was just starting to creep into the western skyLighting
I had to make sure that the light would not be in my model's eyes, and I really wanted a photo from this point, so I had to move until the light was out of my model's eyes but still gave the effect I was looking for. My advice is don't be afraid to move around to get the light to show the way you want it, especially with natural lighting.Equipment
I used a Nikon Coolpix P510 to take this photo.Inspiration
This photo was taken as a part of a series of graduation photos for my model. She graduated from Uni and it was my present to her. The day was beautifully sunny and we agreed that we both wanted a picture on the tree.Editing
The only post-processing I did was adding a slight vignette to bring the focus onto the model even more so.In my camera bag
Since acquiring new equipment, I keep my Canon Rebel T3 with an 18-55mm lens on me. On long vacations, I bring my Nikon Coolpix P510 with me because the lens is not removable and is easier to care for.Feedback
My advice is to keep an eye on the weather for outdoor shoots, not just at the position of the clouds, but at the position of the sun as well. Explore the local parks for places to shoot models or even to take pictures of nature. Watch how the sun bounces and reflects light to create even more interesting images.
