Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken walking from Manhattan to Brooklyn, New YorkTime
The photograph was taken during the morning hours at around 11am.Lighting
As I was walking across the bridge I noticed how the guide cable created an interesting pattern. I positioned myself in the center of the walkway and snapped a single photograph due to the amount of foot and bicycle traffic crossing the bridge. I didn't alter the photograph at all. It looks as though it was a black & white shot, but it is actually done in color.Equipment
This photograph was taken with my Canon 20D, and 24 to 200 telephoto lens and done without the use of a tripod.Inspiration
I was inspired by the patterns the guide wires of the bridge. It was a sight that I have never seen in any other photographs.Editing
There was actually no post-processing to this photograph. Due to the overcast weather conditions it made the photograph look as though I did it in black & white, bit is actually in color. In my camera bag
In my bag at the time, I carried my Canon 20D body, 24-200mm Telephoto lens, 55mm lens, 100mm fixed lens, flash, and various filters. I also carry my tripod when I think I will need it.1Feedback
When you're walking along in the city remember to look around you. You may see one thing and think it's a great shot and right behind you could be the best shot in the world. Remember that there is always a creative photograph out there and all you need to do is open your imaginations eye.
