Location
This was taken a few miles out of Saskatoon, Canada on an old country roadTime
It was approximately 1:00am in the morning.Lighting
The moon was out behind me lighting the landscape. Typically when the moon is out, the Aurora seem weaker to see with the eye. These Aurora were strong though.Equipment
My trusty heavy duty tripod. My beloved Nikon and my go-to wife angle lens 10-55mmInspiration
I am in love with the sky and what it does. I grew up with Aurora but never valued them like I do today. Every chance possible I'm out shooting those night lights.Editing
I used a simple workflow through lightroom to make the colors stand out and bring the foreground out of the shadowsIn my camera bag
Spare batteries, remote shutter, wide angle and prime lenses, cleaning cloths.Feedback
Plan your route. I lucked out with this shot catching it literally before it vanished. Plan the route and arrive early. Same as sunset rules.
