Location
This photo was taken in Cold Lake, Alberta. There is beautiful old train trestle bridge that is perfect for great symmetrical shots and also amazing landscape photographs.Time
I took this photo around noon in the fall, beautiful colour in the trees.Lighting
The lighting was directly behind me when I took this shot, allowing for perfectly symmetrical shadows underneath the trestle and in the area of focus.Equipment
I used a Canon Rebel T3 with the 18-55 mm lens.Inspiration
I was walking underneath the bridge and noticed the symmetry of the beams and thought it would make a great geometric shot.Editing
There wasn't much editing to be done, but I used Adobe Lightroom to sharpen the detail in the beams and bring out the red in the colour. In my camera bag
When it comes to equipment I consider myself a minimalist, I most often only have my tripod, camera, 18-55 mm, and fisheye lenses, along with an extra battery and SD card.Feedback
Keep your eyes open for details in structures, sometimes the quickest shots that you don't think much of turn out to be the best. The more you have your camera on you the better.
