Location
We were vacationing in England and stayed at the Tower Hotel which is just at the foot of this iconic bridge. The first evening there, I loaded up my tripod and camera and set out to find the best spot to photograph this bridge at night. At my first location I had my camera and tripod all set up when a Bobby came by and told me that I was on Public Property and I could not block the sidewalk (which I wasn't anyway). He was particularly gruff in acknowledging me! So I loaded up my gear and moved further down the road and found this perfect spot. What makes this shot particularly appealing is the span was actually open to let a barge pass through. This is photo is actually a combination of 5 different exposures. The new computer programs do a good job of eliminating ghosting from people moving around.Time
Night time - about 9 p.m.Lighting
The bridge is well lit, so my challenge was to find a balance between the foreground people and the bridge structure.Equipment
Nikon 7200, travel tripod. No flash.Inspiration
The challenge was to get a super shot of an iconic London landmark.Editing
Used Lightroom to merge the 5 exposures into a single image. In my camera bag
Depends what I am going to shoot. I mostly enjoy landscapes - particular with flowers.Feedback
Be flexible - and don't take no for answer. Find a location that you can be safe and not intruding on other's property.
