Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on an outing to a small wildlife sanctuary

Time

It was early evening on a lovely late summer's day

Lighting

The sun was low in the sky and dappled from a nearby tree but fell beautifully on the mouse just as the breeze dropped enough to take the shot

Equipment

This was taken with a Canon Eos 650D using a Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens (no tripod)

Inspiration

This was an opportunistic shot and i was very lucky to catch the mouse just as it 'posed' at the top

Editing

Apart from some cropping no other post processing was needed

In my camera bag

I'm very much an amateur photographer and my kit is still growing but I have an Eos 650D with a few lenses. Apart from the telephoto I have a Canon EFS 18-135mm, which I find very versatile, a macro lens which I use for flower photography and a fish eye which is great fun

Feedback

I guess patience is the key - waiting for the right moment, for the wind to drop and the mouse to peer around the wheat
