Location
I took this photo in northern Italy, a few kilometers from Tarvisio. The mountains belong to the Julian Alps which are one of the most beautiful mountain-ranges for me. There are 2 lakes called "Laghi di Fusine" with ultra clear water. This one on the photograph is the upper one of the lakes.Time
It was about 5pm or maybe a little bit later. The sun was setting behind the Mt. Mangart.Lighting
The fresh snow is giving the scenery a special look and feel. At sunset the light is very soft and colorful, definitely worth to see ;)Equipment
For this photo I used a Sony SLT-A99 with an Sigma 20mm f1.8 attached. To give the sky more contrast I used a Lee soft grad filter.Inspiration
I was inspired by the beauty of this wonderful place. I love to be there.Editing
The image is developed and post-processed in Adobe LR 5. I've done a little sharpening, I adjusted the shadows and brought the light a little bit down.In my camera bag
Normally I carry my camera (Sony SLT-A99) with 2 or 3 lenses, Lee Filters, a good and steady tripod and of course a good drink ;)Feedback
Take your time! I think that's the best advice. In landscape photography, where you work with natural light you have to be patient. Sometimes it takes hours to have the perfect light.
