Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my home. The cat is Black Jack, named after Captain Jack Sparrow. Given a chance he would eat the roses.

Time

This photo was taken in the afternoon to early evening.

Lighting

For this shot natural sunlight was used to capture the backlit effect. A kitchen light was used in addition for the lighting.

Equipment

My Canon EOS 7D with a 28X135 macro lens was used. No tripod or flash was used.

Inspiration

I'm always looking for a photo opportunity so when I'm not out and about I look for shots inside and cats make for good subjects when they cooperate.

Editing

No post-processing was used for this photo.

In my camera bag

I usually have my Canon EOS 20D with 28X300 lens, Canon EOS 7D with 28X135 macro lens, extra batteries, lens filters, cleaning cloths and cleaner, and my point and shoot Kodak EasyShare. I try to carry my tripod in the trunk just to be prepared.

Feedback

This photo shoot was planned, however you never know how that will work out. Try some planned shots and hope for the best when working with animals. Be patient in or out of your home. Keep practicing and good luck on getting your shot. Best of luck to everyone....:-)Mary
