Location
We were out on a Saturday morning trip to Coln St Aldwyns in the Cotswolds where I went for a walk along the River Coln with my dog prince while my wife went for a run with a local Canicross group(running with dogs)Time
This shot was taken at 09.17am in a water meadow by the river Coln it was such a beautiful morning to in NovemberLighting
It was a natural lighting shot with the sun just coming up over the trees making the willow trees and the mist over the water meadowsEquipment
I shot with a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC HSM lens this was a handheld shot This was shot at 1/1000 sec at f9 and ISO at 100 at 17mmInspiration
Was just was along the water meadow and turned around and looked back and saw this shot so had to take it the sun and the clouds looked just right with the mist over the meadowEditing
This shot was taken in Raw and edited in Lightroom 5 with the White balance set to shade adjust the whites and blacks ,opened up th shadows an brought down the highlights and ajusted the exposure then added a graduated filter to the top and bottom, with some Dodge and burn with the adjustment brush. Image was sharpened with some noise reduction and masking ,with some minor adjustments in the HSL panel And to finsh with some post-crop vignettingIn my camera bag
On a normal day I take in my backpack would be my Nikon 80-400mm f4.5-5.6D VR ED and a Nikon 18-105mm f3.5-5.6 VR ED and a Tamron 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 AF XR DI 11 Some ND Filters, polarising filter ,wireless and Cable Remote control, microfibre cleaning cloths and blower and my tripod.Feedback
Just go out early morning or in the evening just before sunset and just look for the shot and enjoy it ,take you time to compose the shot and try to get the shot right in the camera, ie exposure and Aperture and shoot with your tripod if you have it with you and may be shoot it between f9 to f16 to keep it Sharp and keep the ISO low if you can.
