The Morning Dove and Babies was taken out on one of our decks. Our grill cover was covered loosely and the Mama Dove found a spot to make her nest. She laid her eggs and with wonder I watched everyday for them to hatch. When they finally hatched it was fun watching them grow and thought what a neat picture it would be to take of them.Time
Mama Dove was very protective of her babies. She got very used to me looking through the window. I found that the early morning was the best time to take the photograph of them. I was actually able to open a window and take the photograph through the window without disturbing Mama Dove too much and she just sat there. I had taken the screen out of the window for a clearer shot.Lighting
When I took this picture in the morning the sun was just coming up in the East right behind the deck so the sunlight was not too bright yet. The morning light was just enough to make the birds look clean and crisp.Equipment
The camera I used was a Canon EOS Rebel T1i with a 55-250mm lensInspiration
We live in the woods so am always for unique opportunities to come my way for photographs. My camera is always in a spot so I can take photographs a moments notice with all the wild life in our yard. When this Mama Dove nested on our grill cover it was certainly something to capture.Editing
The grill on our deck is very close to the windows so I really didn't have to edit this photograph. I was very lucky as this kind of setting doesn't happen often. In my camera bag
I am self taught and have taken lots of photographs. I carry my camera bag everywhere I go. In it I have a Canon EOS Rebel Tli . I use the 55-250 mm lens the most. I also have a 50mm and a 18-55 lenses.Feedback
My advice for the beginner is to take lots and lots of photographs. Study them and see what you can do to improve your work. For example: Take photographs of the same item or place at different times of day and you will see that the lighting will make a difference in how it turns out. I take a lot of photographs of kids, animals, wildlife, dancers and sporting events and everything seems to be in motion. I set my camera for rapid shot so I can get a lot of the motion and will turn out with some really great shots.
