I took this picture in the hallway of a building on the campus of the University of Washington Tacoma.Time
It was about 9:00am.Lighting
No, not really. I just happened to be there when the light was just right to crate the reflection and the shadow.Equipment
I used a Lumix g2 with a 14mm f/2.5 lens. No tripod or anything else.Inspiration
I challenge myself to see pictures others might miss. I was wonder the halls waiting for students to show up for a class I was teaching. I was board. Looking for photo opportunities was a way to pass the time. Plus these halls are standard boring halls and at first glance have nothing interesting about them. This is my favorite kind of photographic challenge. I try to make pictures about how I see rather than what I see. So, what inspired this picture was my training myself to see pictures anywhere.Editing
No, no post.In my camera bag
Just my two lenses: a 14mm f/2.5 and a 45-150mm zoom lens.Feedback
First I would say, see if you can find pictures in unlikely places. This was a boring, standard school hallway and I looked hard to find a photo worth taking there. The other things is I try not to use color if I don't need it. The colors that could be seen out the window were distracting so I took at the color and shot in black and white. Eliminate everything you don't need to make your photographic point. I wanted people to see the window, the reflection and the shadow so I removed as must as I could that was not that.
