Location
Oia town in the Greek Island of Santorini. Oia is famous for its view of the stunning caldera sunset.Time
A bit after sunset.Lighting
I waited for the moment for the faint bluish glow in the sky as the afterglow fades and as the town gets lighted up - it gave me that feeling that as something goes away (the daylight), another (the "townlight") will come in to fill the space - a renewal of "hope" if you will.Equipment
A humble Pentax K-x coupled with Tamron 18-200mm Zoom Lens.Inspiration
While staying at Oia, it dawned upon me that while many people had taken tons of photos of Oia during the day, there were very few of the beautiful town as it welcomed the night. So I wanted to attempt capturing the town's beauty after daylight.Editing
Image was captured in RAW format. I post-processed it in Adobe Photoshop mainly to bring out the correct white balance as well as to bring out some of the shadow details. In my camera bag
A Pentax D-SLR (K-x or K-5 IIS with Pentax 18-135 / Tamron 18-200mm / Sigma 18-250mm Zoom Lens) and a m43 (Panasonic GF3 / Olympus E-PM2 with Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lens).Feedback
Stay after the sunset and you will be rewarded and bring a portable tripod.
