There is a story behind this wonder of a spider.---------
I was a huge museum called the Stan Hywet House, which is more a mansion. There is a beautiful huge garden as well. After the tour of the house we were free to roam the gardens.
---------------------------------
I spotted some neat looking flowers, I am afraid of spiders for starters so I look down to make sure my feet that were under bushes weren't in spider territory. After a second look (double checking myself) I found this beauty, almost running away.
-----------------------
Then I thought I can NOT pass up this amazing opportunity to get this picture of a spider. So I braved my fear... trust me is a major fear. I am down there up close and personal with this spider. I do not have an official macro lens (way too expensive) the next best thing I own are magnifier lenses. So I am twisting on my x10 lens ready to get the shot.
-----------------------
I can't get to close if I did I would have my face up to the camera so I am pretty much doing guess work since I am not having my face inches away from this thing. I am holding my camera out trying to get it to get the shot. Several unsuccessful shots were taken. Then I thought maybe without the lens on. ------------------
So untwisting it.... I dropped it in the grass, in a panic cause the wind was already blowing the web around. The spider I guess freaked out a little and dropped it's meal... (oh, yeah! He was eating) and started paying attention to me. So now I was really nervous. So trying to take the picture without the lens was useless. I put it back one. I am literally talking to the spider and my camera at this point. "come on just take the shot" "please, camera you know you want to" "be good to me and just this one picture" etc. ----------------------------
It was pathetic, and mind you other people are at the gardens walking around.... maybe they didn't hear me but I swear I was trying to take that picture for at least 10mins or more. Anyhow, towards the end one shot was a blurry web, second shot was a blurry butt of the spider, third shot is this wondrous picture that is seen here.---------------------------------------------------------
I am so very proud of myself for this picture. You have no idea what I braved and went through.... well you kind of do now that I told the story. But you weren't there. haha!------------------------------------------------
This is what I did for photography!
