Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo near a waterfall in Elyria Ohio.

Time

I took this photo around 11am.

Lighting

We found a somewhat shaded area and I used one flash. The flash had a small plastic diffuser and was about 10 feet from the model

Equipment

I was using a Canon 70D with a 24-105mm F4 lense. Flash is a goddox 660

Inspiration

The model and I had a plan to take pictures in front of the for mentioned waterfall. But it rained 5 inches the day before and the waterfall was way to full to get near. So we went down the path and found this area near the overflowing river.

Editing

I did minimal post. The dress looks like this in real life, but in the pictures it looked teal. So I edited for that and did some slight healing on the model.

In my camera bag

Of course my Canon 70D and 24-105 lense. I also carry Canon 10-22, Canon 90 macro, at Tamron 150-600, and a sigma 18-35. A few flashes and transmitter.

Feedback

Keep an eye on the natural light and position the model to get best use of it. If you use flash like I did here, try and balance the natural and flash.
