The only real permanent amusement park in Houston - the kind with rides, games, and foods - is Splashtown water park. But these small travelling carnivals pop up all the time, and this December one stopped at a mall very close to where I live. Having developed only very recently an interest in night-time photography, I'd never gone to one just for photos. But one evening very recently I was on my way home, having stopped in one of the stores, and I saw how lit up the whole carnival was, and the ferris wheel in particular caught my eye as I watched the spinning light display. I knew I just had to try and capture it on camera, so I went home and retrieved my camera and tripod, and the result is this.
