Foxes have always intrigued me. Not only is it fascinating to watch their incredible hunting techniques in the wild, it’s equally entertaining to observe their quirky personalities come out, despite being alone or interacting with other foxes. Usually, my encounters with these animals are fleeting, this one was different. I saw this guy hiding in a bush, scanning the area for his next meal. I sat there with my camera for about 15 minutes, taking in the moment with zero distractions. During that time, he would periodically stop scanning, then proceed to stare into my lens. I was about 30 yards away, so he didn’t see me as a threat. Rather, his focus on me was merely due to a shared curiosity and mutual intrigue. Given foxes are one of my favorite animals, this encounter will always be one of my most memorable experiences in the wild.
