Spring brings to mind flowers blooming, right? Not ice? Tell that to Houston. While technically March 4, 2014 was still winter, since the spring equinox wouldn't be for another two weeks, I've always just sort of considered spring to start when March does. But this year, a supremely late winter freeze caught a few early spring blooms to result in an interesting crossing of seasons with spring flowers perfectly preserved in winter ice.
