For this particular image I used about 3 different exposures, 1 each for the water, for the sky and for the bridge and trees in the distance. I emphasized the sun with a lens flare and edited the colours for an HDR surreal appeal. I choose to select the water and change its colour so that it could stand out and frame the colours of the bridge and land (red tones), the same way I added a more green-yellow tone to the grass at the bottom of the image.
