Is he a Major Mitchell

No, he's a red-tailed Black Cockatoo. The Major Mitchell is a pink cockatoo with a pink face/chest and under wing with a very brightly coloured crest when raised. Unfortunately I've not been able to capture one yet, they're not common in this area as they like dry inland areas.
