Earlier on a clear night on 11th Oct, all my efforts got wasted because the tracker (Move Shoot Move) I was using didn't allow me for the portrait mode easily and had to move my camera thus losing my blue hour foreground.
After having this one shot in my bucket list (maintained on PicnPlace App) for couple years, a waste of clear night was really painful.
So on my reserve night (14th Oct), I tried again, this time using my traditional way of stacking. So this is a stacked one of 10 Milky way pics blended with blue hour foreground shot.
The orange cloud is the smoke cloud illuminated by the Creek Fire which was 58% contained till then. Now I have to return back next year for a clear night sky.
BTW - Those thinking about Move Shoot Move - It's a nice compact rotator. Works great for landscape mode. With my experience of a Canon 7dMkii, I wouldn't suggest it for a DSLR but should work well for Mirrorless due to weight advantage. I'm thinking of returning but the company doesn't agree and is asking me to ship to China costing me $68. (If anyone is interested in buying from me, please DM me).
Camera - 7dMkii, Rokinon 14mm, F2.8
Foreground - F2.8, SS 0.5 secs, ISO 160 (7 bracketed shots)
Milky way - 10 shots at F2.8 /SS 13 secs / ISO 5000
