"Time tempers love, but not removes,
More hallow'd when all hope is fled:
Oh! what are thousand living loves
To that which cannot quit the dead?"
--Excerpt from "One Struggle More and I Am Free," by George Gordon Lord Byron
What can I say here that would be unique or profound? Grief is a terrible, long walk through hell and all you can do is just keep putting one foot in front of the other, no matter how stupid and pointless it seems. I miss my Calantha. I wanted to show the grief as it often feels; a huge, insurmountable black void that you will never escape.
Thanks to those who contributed to my tattoo fund; I am happy to report that the tattoo is finished and healing nicely. It is a gorgeous, colorful, Art Nouveau/Mucha-inspired piece where she looks as queenly and beautiful as she did in life, in astonishing detail. You can see images on my personal Instagram page if you're interested. I do love it very, very much, I just wish I'd had a different reason to get it. Many, many thanks to Shannon O'Sullivan of Shangri-La Tattoos for doing such an incredible job!
