We reached at the pristine Gurudongmar lake right on time before the sun rises above the horizon, which is by the way one of the highest lakes that can be reached by road, and since it is winters, it was beyond freezing cold with cold winds making its way to chill your bones. But as the sun came up it was such a good warmth. Everyone started to come out of their hooded shells to enjoy the beauty of this frozen lake at such high altitude. We could also hear the crackling sound of ice beneath our feet as the sun's warmth was making the surface ice to melt. But those few moments with the extreme nature are just beyond amazing.
