This is a night view of London Bridge Station railways as seen from the Shard. The picture is taken from the viewing platform on the 72nd floor, 800 feet above the sea level. I found this view fascinating with its leading lines and bright colours ranging from green to purple. The Shard (opened in February, 2013) is the tallest building in the European Union (1017 feet) and was designed by Renzo Piano.

London Bridge Station is the oldest surviving railway station which opened in December 1836. It was serving London's first railway line, the London to Greenwich railway. The first section of the line to open ran between Bermondsey Spa and Deptford and opened in February 1836. At the Corbett's Lane Junction in South Bermondsey stood the World's first signal box.
