seeing him, reminds me of the first camera we had bought out youngest son for Christmas. We were in West Yellowstone, and had taken snow mobiles into Old Faithful. On the way there, we stopped and watched these Bison, on the OTHER side of the river, then went on. On our way back, we stopped in the same spot and the Bison were on THIS side of the river! We were just talking, and my husband said "where's Scott?" We looked around there here was Scott HALF WAY BETWEEN US AND THE BISON! WELL WITHIN CHARGING RANGE! He was saying "here buffalo, here buffalo! My husband, in his quietest, yet loudest voice he could muster, said "Scott! Here NOW!" Scott must have sensed the urgency, and had the presence of mind, NOT to turn and run, but he just started slowly backing up! The Bison kept his eye on him the whole time! Scott was only 8 years old at the time! We were scared to death! Of course now, we look back and laugh at the incident! Since then, at 36 he is a professional photographer! So Bison kind of hold a special place in my heart!
