Pacu Jawi is cow race Originated in the Minangkabau region of West Sumatra. It is held on a muddy rice fields as a celebration or auspice of good Harvests and possibly increase of the value of well-performing cows and bulls. This activity is usually done before the planting season farming area.

Two cows are ride by a jokey which is resting on the wooden plow and holding the tail of the cows. The track used is very muddy rice fields (this is where one difference Pacu Jawi dan Karapan Sapi in Madura that use dry land).
