Behind The Lens

Location

Sepang, Malaysia

Time

Grand prix racing season at April 5th 2009

Lighting

Natural light is the sun. Do not forget to prepare a good compensation of exposure to anticipate the weather turns sunny, cloudy or partly cloudy.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon 40D with EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 lens, a cheap lens but you can explore more with this lens on my monopod.

Inspiration

We can optimize our existing equipment, the gear is not a constraint to produce quality photos. With cheap equipment with creativity we can still work well.

Editing

Only cropping, more contrast, vibrant and few saturation.

In my camera bag

Canon 5D, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens, monopod, lens 50mm f1.8, some filter lens, extra battery and extra memory cards.

Feedback

Find the best location even if you are not on the main stage, you can use a monopod to be high view of your camera and make it more stable. Set the camera with wide aperture priority, high ISO and shutter speed do not try to be too high (to get a blur effect on the back, used panning technique)
