Buffalo Point, Antelope Island, Utah, This is from last week trip to Utah, The Buffalo Point Trail, located on Antelope Island State Park, climbs 300 feet in 0.4 miles from the Buffalo Point Overlook/Parking Area to the top of a prominent rock outcropping. Once you reach this high vantage point, you are greeted with Great Salt Lake. Five of us decided to hike to this point and from this point only two of us decided to get down the hill, there is no trail to speak of rather you just climb down into the calm cool river through the rocks and loose gravel, we got down the hill in 30 mins.. we are lucky the weather was so cooperate for photographs, at least I got a chance to see and experience it.

After patiently waiting the sun began to set. I ran from spot to spot, trying to find the best composition and settled on this place as the sun’s reddish-orange arms extended across the river sprinkling golden light on the rocks.

The glorious sunrise was over and the fun started, we lost light very quickly and we have no trail to go back, just to hike back with the focused dim beams of our headlamps, we could barely make out from there and kept pushing ourselves. After hiking up the side of a mountain for what felt like an eternity, we finally reached the top
