What else did the Romans do for Britain other than build this vast fort over 2000 years ago? Well, roads and central heating, the calendar, cabbages, police and aqueducts, public libraries, firemen and indoor plumbing for a start.
This vast fort is also known as English Heritage's Portchester Castle, Portsmouth, England. What a fascinating place and the it's also the best persevered Roman fort in northern Europe! Thats so cool!

The image is a hand held "recce" shot using Canon's TS-E 17mm tilt and shift f4L Lens on Canon's flagship Canon EOS-1D X Mark II Camera Body. Not the best lens for hand held shots but definitely one of the best lenses for BIG architecture photography on the market today. I also like the image so here it is. :-)

Interesting and beautifully composed shot. Wish it weren't quite so dark at the bottom though.

Thank you for taking time MaryAnne to comment on a number of my images and for your support here. That's an interesting point you make and I was of the same opinion but I like the contrast so went with it :)
