A ghost conjures up a ghost story about the telling of a
ghost story. The English title is Eurydice's Visit.
The story is based on the Orpheus myth and plays out.
in an underworld imagined by the ghost Eurydice.
Through its plot, the thrifty spirit wrestles with whether or not to dump
her boyfriend that charming spendthrift Orpheus.
As opposed to the original myth, Eurydice determines her fate.
and she determines if Orpheus is to remain banished in the underworld.
How will she choose?
The story has 53 scenes divided into an
introduction, three acts and a final "closing scene". Each
page's text has photography illustrating the storyline.
All photos are analog. The negatives digitalized. Equipment was
a Nikon F camera body, a Nikkor 50 mm, F1.2 lens, and a handheld
inducrive/reflective lightmeter. Film was Portra 400 color and
lighting ambient. Images were taken in San Francisco's Bourn
Mansion, whose architect was Willis Polk.
Morgan Conolly wrote the story and took the photos.
Playwright, photographer and actress Annika Forslund
Rimbléus played the story's eight characters and assisted with
developing the storyline, directing and editing the photography.
She works out of Stockholm and New York.
