I did the Traver-Sabine Circuit, including the Blue Lakes, the clearest freshwater in the whole world. I did this 94 km track with supply for 7 days and my complete camera equipment, which is about 5 extra kilos. Most of the time it wasn't really possible to take good pictures. The weather was perfect for tramping, but not for taking pictures. But there was this one moment. I started my walk at 7:30 in the morning to have enough daylight to skip a hut and reach my destination 23 km far away. Over 7 ours later with my complete 18 kg equipment, I arrived 15 minutes before sunset at the Sabine Hut. Most of the people would have just sit down, relax the hurting feed and cook something. But I did the opposite. I took my camera and sat down at the lake for another hour. There were so many sandflies, that I've got problems to get pictures without them sitting on my lens. But I managed it and got a nice shot and all the pain from the long walk were forgotten!
