we arn't allowed to take pics of kids here...unless they are our own! I think things have gone too far the other way now!

Sonja, I'm an Aussie also, and I know what you mean ... because of a (malicious!) few, the rest of us are penalised! :-/ ... however, if you check the law about it here, images of folk in public places/spaces is allowed, but not at pools or shopping centers etc ... I also think images at tennis courts and other sporting places are not permitted either, but that doesn't stop anyone with an iPhone or pocket point and shoot :-/ ... apparently anyone with a large DSLR is considered a "professional" and images in places mentioned above are not permitted - go figure! :-/

All that said, I take great care with all my images of people, I aim only to show them at their very best!
If I am "caught" and get questioned, I do have a WWC clearance ... but if the questioner is still not happy, I'll delete the image/s if asked to do so ... have not had to, so far, in 4+ years of candid shooting :-)
