I was unprepared for this guy sitting beside me, she was large like a Blow Fly with a very distinctive Yellow head. Quite striking. It is a parasitic Snail Fly of the Genus Armenia. Thanks to the University of Queensland for the information.

This being a benign looking Australian insect, I'm guessing it's also extravagantly lethal. :) Nice capture!

No this one is harmless, unless you are a Snail. Then it will infect you with a nasty little parasite.

I know. I was so lucky to see this fly when I had my camera. I have my doubts about ever seeing one again.
