“Perhaps it has sometimes happened to you in a dream that someone says something which you don’t understand but in the dream it feels as if it had some enormous meaning–either a terrifying one which turns the whole dream into a nightmare or else a lovely meaning too lovely to put into words, which makes the dream so beautiful that you remember it all your life and are always wishing you could get into that dream again.”
C.S. Lewis
As a young girl, my grandfather bought the boxed edition of “The Chronicles of Narnia” for me. My grandpa and I have always shared a passion for everything books. So it should come as no great surprise that I was overjoyed with the present. I read all 7 books in a day. “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” remains one of my favorites to this day. In this Narnia inspired dreamscape, I tried to convey all the wonder I felt when I read the book for the first time. An abandoned castle that became part of the forest that surrounded it. Chirping birds, a gentle wind. A symphony of magic and laughter.
“The Dance” was challenging. Lots of little pieces to the puzzle that had to be thought through and pieced together. But at the end of the day, it was worth it.
Model, Rabbits, Squirrel and birds are my photographs. The rest is stock from Adobe Stock, RAW Exchange, Story Art and Pixelsquid.
