Balancing darkness and light within myself is hard under pressure. In those stressful situations when it feels like there's no way out I look around me and wonder what it might be like to be an inanimate object like a tree or a rock or dirt, to simply exist but still have the capacity to think and experience human emotions without consequence. This image of a woman "grafting" into a tree already long dead explores that emotion.
