I love the idea of composing a constructed reality, using symbols, combining exposures, creating surrealistic effects.
In this self portrait I am projecting inner emotions, rather than just a depiction of myself. The feeling of freezing in time, being trapped in a surreal world. The monochrome and rather dark tonality should keep the viewer focused. The high contrast of sunlight on my face emphasizes the strong emotion. While, the spider web is a symbol of time passing by, of being trapped like a fly in a constructed reality.
