Tips and Pointers Comment: Started with a black and white portrait that had a lot of people and misc. objects cluttering up the background. I carefully cut out the distracting background and replaced it with a grungy paper texture. Color adjusted and desaturated (90%) the the background. I then added a feathered white overlay behind the head to soften the background and to make the face stand out.
