Tips and Pointers:
The key to this shot is that I did not focus on the flower itself.
Don't get too close to the flower! This style is not macro photography. I was about four 4 feet away from the flower.
Set the depth of field to a fairly shallow setting F8 - 10.
Use aperture priority and a slower shutter speed.
"Manually" focus on the something just behind the flower petals (Monopods are a great help here), then centered the frame back on the heart of the flower.
Crop as needed remembering the rules of thirds.
Lens: Nikkor 18-300mm AF DX focal length: 125mm
