The Sacra da Familia is perhaps the most impressive church by several measures.
Few buildings have been designed and built with that devotion.
The first observation when entering is harmonious colors and a massive whole that still enjoys the lightness and brightness that seeks its peers.
An absolute recommendation is if you are in that direction sometimes on vacation or otherwise.
About the architect and the construction stages
Gaudí was buried in the crypt of the church in 1926. According to the complex church drawings left by the architect, it was decided to continue the construction after a long break, although many at the time considered the project completely impossible. When work began after the Spanish Civil War in 1957, traces of the bombings that damaged the church during the war were more easily repaired than many other attacks on Barcelona houses. Francoka had not dared to destroy the church building to the ground. [3]
Despite its unfinishedness, the Sagrada Família is a hallmark of Barcelona and one of the city’s main attractions, visited by millions of people every year. It is also one of the most important achievements of the art nouveau style and modernist architecture in the world, as well as Gaudí's greatest design work, for which he worked for more than 40 years, until his death in 1926. Construction is still going on. The most ambitious expect the Sagrada Família to be completed in 2026, one hundred years after Gaudí’s death and 144 years since construction began. Thanks to modern working methods and computer-based design, the work has accelerated, even though it was originally thought to take centuries like the cathedrals of the past. In 2010, the north and south portals, the crypt, the nave and eight towers were completed. The towers were completed in 1975. When Gaudi died, only one tower was completed. There will be a total of 18 towers
