Day shot converted to black and white. I likely broke some traditional rules in creating this but was very pleased with the final effect. I had a 20 x 30 inch canvas made and variations in sunlight through the windows as the day progresses provides a great aliveness or variance to this photo in a moody resemblance to Yosemite itself. The degree of light on it changes contrasts particularly on the snowy white parts in reflectiveness. The "no stars" of an afternoon shot do not allow the stars to distract from Half dome and diffuse the viewers focus bringing the viewer's attention more to the rock characteristics, moon, snow and ice or the trees under the moon. I feel that making this in a new way created more depth and a nice different effect from tradition effects in it's boldness in which I hope you share it's magic.
