The lattice work of King's Cross station train shed roof reflected in the window of an LNER Mk.4 set, inspired by the work of Brendan Neiland RA.
In 1991 InterCity commissioned the renowned artist Brendan Neiland R.A. to paint a series of five works to celebrate the electricification of the East Coast Main Line and the full introduction of the full IC225 fleet. Brendan Neiland‘s style of realism and cityscapes was ideal and the artist created spectacular paintings that cleverly portrayed aspects of station architecture together with the electrification and the trains themselves in scenes at Kings Cross, Leeds, York, Newcastle and Edinburgh.
